New York Arabic Orchestra Fairfax Concert reviews
Great show in the rain in Minneapolis
In the driving rain on July 23rd, the Minneapolis show was the best concert I've ever seen in 30 years of attending shows. The staging and video were spectacular, the venue was outstanding, and the energy of the crowd and the band was incredible. The rain only enhanced the visual presentation - the whole concert had the look of a music video. Bono remains one of the best front men in rock, hitting every high note, even with challenging songs like Elevation. The band was in top form, seamlessly working in snippets of The Beatles "Rain", Purple Rain, Singin' in the Rain, and Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head. The Edge's guitar solos were goosebump-worthy all night long, while Adam and Larry were fantastic as well. A total sensory overload when spaceship stage lights, a lightning storm in the distance, and a downtown fireworks show were all going on at once. It was surreal.
